Invest NI - the aim of clk2do

Clk2do is a digital learning web based resource specifically developed for pupils in Northern Ireland. It was developed by the CCEA for Invest NI with the aim of providing pupils with an up to date and interactive environment to enhance their employability and illustrate the importance of adopting an entrepreneurial approach to life and work. 

This resource is closely mapped to the statutory requirements of Education for Employability at Key Stage 3 within the NI Curriculum.  It complements the CCEA ‘The WOW Factor’ Employability programme for Key Stage 3 and intends to encourage an innovative learning environment, thus helping to motivate pupils. 

The site promotes enterprise and entrepreneurship as highly valued and a favourable quality to demonstrate within a working environment, regardless of the employment sector or whether an individual is working as an employer or an employee. 

The community aspect within Clk2do provides an exciting opportunity for pupils to use ICT to communicate with their peers by exchanging and comparing views on various aspects of the Employability curriculum. This section of the website also allows pupils to customise and record their work, which in turn supports the career planning aspect of Education for Employability.

As the website can be accessed at home it offers parents an opportunity to gain an insight into what their children are learning through the Employability curriculum. It also encourages home learning in terms of discussion between parents and their children about issues which may be stimulated as a result of using Clk2do.
